History

April 1954 Junkosha established as a polymer manufacture and sales company in Setagaya, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, with capital of 150,000 yen. Began manufacture and sale of PVC electric insulation tubes, industrial hoses, packing materials, monofilaments, polyethylene tubes, and injection-molded products.
January 1960 Began development of molten fluorocarbon polymer (FEP) products.
December 1960 Completed first phase of construction on the Musashi Operations Center in Musashi-machi, Iruma-gun (now Iruma-shi), Saitama Prefecture.
September 1961 Began production of FEP tubes.
February 1962 Began production of FEP wires
March 1967 Capital increased to 60 million yen (30 million yen investment received from Tokyo Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co., Ltd.)
December 1967 Tokyo Business Center opened in Gotokuji, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo
February 1969 Concluded agreement on technological joint venture with W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
July 1969 Capital increased to 90 million yen (30 million yen investment received from W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. of the U.S.)
September 1969 Completed first phase of construction on the Hanno Operations Center in Hanno-shi, Saitama Prefecture.
March 1970 Began production of PTFE and polyester flat cables.
September 1972 Began production of high-data-rate transmission coaxial cables.
February 1974 Established Japan Gore-Tex Inc. as a 50-50 joint venture with W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
March 1974 Capital increased to 110 million yen.
February 1976 Began production of oil-leak sensors.
April 1979 Began production of coaxial cable assemblies for microwave transmission (JMCA®).
April 1981 Began production of fluoropolymer tubes with contrast agents.
December 1981 Completed first phase of construction on the Moro Operations Center in Moroyama-machi, Iruma-gun, Saitama Prefecture.
May 1983 Began production of all-fluoropolymer heat exchangers.
April 1984 Began production of medical probe cables.
May 1984 Completed construction of New Tokyo Business Center in Miyasaka, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.
April 1985 Began production of instant fittings made of polyethylene terephthalate.
September 1987 Capital increased to 207.35 million yen.
May 1990 Completed first phase of construction on Yamanashi Operations Center in Sakaigawa-mura, Higashi-Yatsushiro-gun (now Fuefuki-shi), Yamanashi Prefecture.
April 1993 Began production of ultra-high-speed coaxial cables.
August 1995 Began production of ultra small gauge coaxial cable hinge assemblies.
October 1995 Completed second phase of construction of Yamanashi Operations Center.
July 1997 Obtained ISO9001 certification.
February 2000 Completed first phase of construction on Kasama Operations Center in Kasama-shi, Ibaraki Prefecture.
April 2000 Began production of all-fluoropolymer optical fibers.
October 2000 Obtained ISO14001 certification.
March 2002 Began production of film tubes.
April 2002 Began production of micro-cell foam extrusion products.
March 2004 Began production of hyper-tubes.
May 2005 Began production of Clean Flex® cables.
August 2005 Began production of SILKYBOND® fluoropolymer adhesive film.
January 2006 Began production of high-barrier tubes.
February 2006 Began production of MBS modules®.
April 2006 Tokyo Business Office opened in Surugadai, Kanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
February 2009 Junkosha ATC Inc. established in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China.
June 2009 Stock in Japan Gore-Tex Inc. transferred; capital and technological joint venture with W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. terminated.
August 2009 Began production of flexible camera link cables.
April 2010 Began production of high-speed, high-capacity coaxial cables for data transmission.
November 2010 Completed second phase of construction on Kasama Operations Center.
December 2010 Junkosha STC Inc. established in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China.
February 2011 Began production of JAXA Qualified differential transmission space cables.
April 2011 Began production of Peelable heat shrink tubes for catheter manufacturing.
September 2012 Junkosha SOC Inc. established in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China.
